18/03/10. Police NHW Update.
Dear all,
It has been some time since my last message from HQ and I apologise for that.
Its been a very busy time. We are working with partners on how we in Sussex deal with anti social behaviour and look at how best we can protect our communities in Sussex. This is interesting work as we look to make sure our vulnerable and repeat victims are given the support and help they need.
We have also been working on a corporate newsletter layout for Sussex. Whilst the content will differ from district to district the general layout and appearance will remain the same. I hope you receive one soon to update you on what your local team are doing.
You may have noticed the introduction on the website of mobile numbers for all our neighbourhood staff. This is to assist us with meeting the Police pledge in responding to calls to our local officers within 24hrs. If you call the mobile of a local officer and they are on duty they will answer. If they are not available the call will be automatically diverted to a Police station where it will be answered if someone is available. If there is no one free you will be able to leave a message on a shared voicemail and a member of the local team will contact you back within 24hrs. Please remember this is for all non emergency issues that can be dealt with in slow time. All emergencies please call 999 or 0845 6070999.
The community messaging system will be upgraded on the 14th April so we should see some added benefits. One of these hopefully a footer on the base of the message so you know who sent it. Mark and the computer technicians are working with the suppliers to fix all the outstanding issues.
Thank goodness the lighter nights are coming. I think we all feel better with a bit of sunshine.
I am away now until the 5th April but can I just thank you all for your continued support.
Best wishes Dick Coates C/Insp Neighbourhood Policing Branch. Richard.coates@sussex.pnn.police.uk
14/03/10. Broadcaster messages.
After a long time of not receiving Broadcaster messages the police IT team have rectified a "glitch" in their system and I seem to now be receiving them again. I will of course put all broadcaster messages I receive on the Broadcaster web page.
