DATA LINK (click here for poster)

This is a simple scheme being instigated across Sussex. The idea is to aid those of us that suffer from disabilities such as heart disease, epilepsy and diabetes etc. Take the scenario of the emergency services receiving a 999 call for help and the caller collapses before they can give any details of the problem. The emergency services arrive and find the person alone and unconscious. How do they know what treatment to give that might save the person's life? Well the answer could be in the fridge. The emergency services will look in the fridge for a small container that contains details of any medical conditions of people living at that address. Armed with this knowledge the best emergency treatment can be given. The container with detail forms and stickers for the fridge and the front door or hallway are free. If you would like a Data Link Pack or know of someone who could use one then please contact your local Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinator or your Crime Prevention Co-ordinator. They are also being distributed by some local health centres. You can also have another Data Link in your car. Put the container in the glove box and the stickers on the side window and glove box door.
