Security Marking
The recomended form of property identification.

The police and other authorities throughout the world recomend Property Identity Marking as a practical theft deterent. Identity marking should be both permanent and visible to realise the maximum deterent.
Stolen or lost articules that are recovered by the police but lack identification cannot be easily returned to their rightful owner and may even have to be returned to a suspect criminal.
All valuable property e.g. televisions, videos, computers and cycles etc. as well as items of sentimental value should be marked.

All Area Co-ordinators now hold a Security Marking Kit for members to borrow free of charge and they are easy to use. So if you have not already marked your valuables please contact your local co-ordinator who will arrange to get a kit to you.

Included in the kit are:-

• UV pens and lamp for marking TVs and videos etc or where a stamp or engraving would damage a valuable..
• Numeric & alphabetic punches with hammer to mark cycles and heavy garden machinery etc.
• electric engraver for marking power tools and garden furnature etc.
• stylus markers and stencils for ceramics, glass etc.
• permanent ink markers for soft materials like vinyl and plastics.
• warning labels to deter thieves.
• record cards and instructions.
